Vania Barbosa studied Nutritional Science and Dietetics at Universidade Federal do Parana. Before moving to Ireland, Vania worked as Dietitian in the Unified National Health System (SUS - Brazil), after her MSc in Nutritional Science she spent a time in academia, lecturing and providing specialist research expertise to projects in Medicinal Plants and Bioextracts of the Brazilian Socio Biodiversity.
She has a MSc in Clinical Research from NUIG. She now works as Research Manager in the scientific team at the Cork-based CRO Atlantia Clinical Trials. Vania’s research interests encompass medicinal plants, natural extracts, biotics, functional foods, and clinical nutrition.
