To mark #IWD23 we want to celebrate and highlight all of our female employees and get to know five of them a little bit better...meet our Data Manager, Clodagh!
Tell us a bit about your role at Atlantia.
My journey with Atlantia began in March 2018, while I was still a Nutrition & Health Science student at Cork Institute of Technology (CIT). I spent a few months as an intern completing my 3rd year placement with Atlantia before continuing on in a Clinical Trials Assistant/ Project Support role on a part-time basis, while I completed my studies. This experience helped me to build confidence and learn more about all aspects of the clinical research process. It was also during this time that I developed more of an affinity for the data management side of things so I transitioned into a full-time Quality Control Coordinator (now Data Analyst) in June, 2019. Since then, Atlantia has allowed me to develop further skills and expand my knowledge to the point where I was promoted to Data Manager in April, 2022. I now work with a team of three Data Analysts, enjoying a dynamic working culture and contributing towards exciting health research. It has been a joy to learn and grow with Atlantia over the past few years and look forward to continuing to do so in those to come.
What do you enjoy most about working for Atlantia?
My favourite thing about working for Atlantia is the people. There’s a real sense of community between all Atlantia employees, past and present. We place great emphasis on teamwork to pull together everyone’s strengths and provide opportunity for growth. Everyone bands together through the tougher times and celebrates the good times!
What’s one bit of advice you would give someone who wants to enter your field of work?
Be open-minded – Whether that’s to a new task, different people you get to work with or a new opportunity. I had never planned or expected to work in the clinical research space as a student, let alone data management but, am very happy where I’ve wound up.
What’s the next place on your travel bucket list?
Currently saving for a trip to New Zealand to visit family and explore the islands a bit and hoping to tag on a stop-off to Japan on route home to check-off two bucket list destinations in one go.
